Narsinghdi

Narsinghdi, city in east central Bangladesh, in Dhaka Division, located 40 km (25 mi) east of Dhaka, the national capital. Narsinghdi supports textile weaving and jute industries and serves as a market center for rice, sugarcane, pineapples, and bananas. Roads and rail lines lind Narsinghdi to Dhaka and Narayanganj. Many of the city’s residents work in Dhaka and commute there daily or weekly. Population (1991) 106,000.
